ABOUT US
The Mu Zeta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated was established May 2, 1980 on the New Brunswick campus of Rutgers University. 29 young men decided that it was time to change the climate of the campus and to bring innovation and excellence to the community. These men, members of the Genesis line, created a long standing tradition of creative programming, service to the community and a strong passion and dedication to promoting the high ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service. From its inception, the Mu Zeta chapter has held itself to a higher standard and continues to raise the bar.
From our humble beginnings to our humble current existence, the Mu Zeta chapter has lived up to the fraternity’s moniker as, “The People’s Fraternity.” We are a brotherhood developed by the community in which we serve. Our members come from all walks of life and break any and every stereotypical fraternity mold. We embrace diversity and hold true to the idea of “Inclusion rather than exclusion,” as envisioned by our illustrious founders.
Established on the campus of the largest university in the state of New Jersey, the Mu Zeta chapter prides itself in being a trendsetter and model chapter of this great fraternity. We have committed to always bringing fresh new program ideas, creative party themes, community service and genuine friendship to everyone around us; both on and off campus. It is our duty as men to bring growth and prosperity to our community and we are fully invested in that endeavor. Whether we are jamming at our famous 80s vs. 90s Party, or addressing issues in the minority community at our Black & Brown Relations program; whether we are marching for the babies in the March of Dimes, or showing RU pride tailgating for the Homecoming Game…Mu Zeta continues to strive for excellence in all that we do. We will continue to innovate, transform and empower the campus, the community and the world!
